Titanium Oxide (Anatas)
Titanium oxide in nature; It is found as rutile Anastas and ilmenite. Rutile and Anastas are mostly used in the ceramic industry. It gives color from white to yellow according to their purity. The tone of the yellow color in the glaze changes according to the low and abundance of the iron it contains. Pure titanium glaze covers like tin oxide. One of its most important features is that it is a crystal and opaque maker. The opacity on Titan is better in glazes with zinc and barium. Titan can be used at high temperatures. It is possible to obtain yellow color at these temperatures. It can give gray, blue-green colors in cobalt glazes, yellow-blue in copper glazes, and gray in chrome glazes. Rutile is also used in artistic glazes. Rutile is dark in color because it contains iron. They form dark blue colors because they cannot be dispersed homogeneously in reduction cooking. Titan; It gives a stronger effect in the same environment with ZnO and CaO. It provides resistance to capillary cracking and acids in glazes. The barite it contains burns after 300 degrees and loses its anatase feature. Therefore, it is not preferred at high temperatures.
