Very plastic chamotte earth, cooking a very beautiful black in oxidation and metallic black in reduction.
Recommended for architectural and decorative sculpture. Excellent for modelling, plate work, carving etc.
A word of advice: avoid pieces that are too thin!

Advice
The slower you cook the African Stone, the better results you will get.
From 1100°C, the temperature should be increased slowly so that oxygen can still pass through the still porous surface. If you go up too quickly, you will get deformations, blisters or even bursts or splits.
Reducing atmosphere not recommended or with precautions.
Interesting color from 1100°C and up to 1270°C (to have a beautiful black in oxidative cooking follow the advice below).
